Lufthansa Group touts flexible rebooking due to ‘exceptional circumstances’

Lufthansa Group airlines have extended their period for passengers rebooking tickets for cancelled flights.

Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Air Dolomiti had required travel to be taken by April 30, 2021.

That date has now been moved to December 31 next year.

“The new measures will allow customers to re-book existing and future travel plans to December 2021 at no additional cost,” Lufthansa said.

The new trip must consist of the same route and class and take place by that date.

The policy applies to tickets booked up to and including June 30 this year with a confirmed travel date up to April 30, 2021.

“Lufthansa Group airlines are continuously reviewing their ticket waiver policies and responding to customers needs when it comes to rebooking,” the company said.

“Lufthansa Group is thus responding to the wish of many customers to be able to make their travel plans more flexible due to the current exceptional circumstances.”
