ABTA’s Tour Operators’ Council has given its final backing to the association’s plans to revamp its structure.
It agreed last week to rubber-stamp the proposals that will see the abolition of both TOC and Travel Agents’ Council and the formation of a new 18-strong board.
Members will now be asked to vote on the proposals with the results announced at an extraordinary general meeting on November 4.
Meanwhile, ABTA and the Department of Trade and Industry have agreed on the wording of a statement that clarifies why customers pay single and underoccupancy supplements.
An ABTA spokeswoman said: “The DTI was concerned it was not clear to customers. The statement will be sent to operators who can, if they wish, include it in their brochures.”
