Two Northern Irish women, thought to be in their 50s, were stabbed to death last night in Turkey.
The incident took place in Ismir on the west coast. One of the women is reported to have owned a home in Kusadasi.
A 17-year-old Turkish youth, understood to be the boyfriend of a daughter of one of the women, has been arrested.
The daughter, also in Turkey at the time, was not present during the attack. All three women are believed to have been on holiday in Turkey.
The Turkish Department of Foreign Affairs has said a diplomatic representative was travelling from the Irish Embassy in Ankara to the scene to provide consular assistance.
