UK attractions and venues have united in a campaign to offer free and discounted tickets to NHS staff
Called Britain Unites to thank the NHS, the campaign aims to help NHS workers to “enjoy some well-earned relaxation, reunite with loved ones and experience everything that the nation they kept safe has to offer”.
The Britain Unites online directory features all venues that are taking part, and their offers.
The campaign also has support from VisitBritain, UKinbound and London Tourism Cooperative.
The initiative was launched by Emma-Jane Nutbrown, who worked at Body Worlds London before establishing her own tourism consultancy called That’s The Ticket.
She said: “The pandemic brought tourism to a standstill causing massive job and revenue losses; at the same time our heroic NHS have been on the frontline risking their lives for us.
“As an industry, this is our opportunity to give something back to them, reviving our country’s businesses by encouraging domestic travel and rebuilding confidence in visiting venues.”
NHS staff can visit www.britainunites.co.uk to find details of ticket giveaways and offers available to them.
Attractions taking part include Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Royal Museums Greenwich, St Paul’s Cathedral and British Airways i360.
