Tui UK has extended the suspension of its holidays to Portugal up to August 16.
The announcement brings the planned return of Portugal in line with Tui’s suspension of holidays to mainland Spain.
The UK’s largest tour operator, which has been calling for a ‘more nuanced’ regional approach to quarantine restrictions, is also offering “more flexible options” for its customers.
Customers due to travel to mainland Spain and Portugal between the 17 and 31 August 2020, or to the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands between the 10 and 16 August 2020 can amend their holiday and receive an incentive to rebook. They can alternatively cancel in return for a full cash refund.
Tui UK said it will continue to review its holiday programme in line with UK government advice.
