JG Travel Group appoints former Shearings product lead

JG Travel Group has appointed Matt Herbert as sales and yield director.

The company acquired the National Holidays brand after the failure of its parent company Specialist Leisure Group.

Herbert worked for Shearings, which was also under the Specialist Leisure Group umbrella, for 13 years. He was the main product and commercial lead in the business.

At JG Travel Group he will be responsible for managing and directing all areas of the sales, insight and reporting aspects of the business.

Luis Arteaga, chairman and chief executive of JG Travel Group, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Matt to the group, and this is another important addition to the team as we continue to expand our business.

“Matt will play a pivotal role in ensuring the JG Travel Group meets its strategic aims through the optimisation of sales through commercial yield processes.”

Herbert’s appointment follows recent hires of former Specialist Leisure Group staff, including Claire Dutton as trade sales manager, Julie Wilson as groups manager and Chris Allen as product manager.

Herbert said: “I’m delighted to be joining the JG Travel Group, with the recent acquisition of National Holidays and the strategic growth plans in place for Just Go! Holidays, Omega and National Holidays itself, it certainly is an exciting time.”
