Online courses created to help redundant business travel staff

New online courses are being introduced by the Business Travel Association to help staff made redundant or facing job losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The BTA is working in partnership e-learning platform Travilearn with sponsorship support from Avis.

Travilearn has created two original online courses for BTA members looking for new jobs in the industry or new roles beyond the travel sector.

The courses are short, bespoke online workshops aimed to support those who have lost jobs from the coronavirus pandemic and start on Wednesday with an introductory webinar today at 4pm.

A discounted cost of £19.99 per person is being offered.

Courses have been designed to assist in two critical areas – to support industry job seekers following redundancy, while identifying and promoting transferable skills.

BTA chief executive  Clive Wratten said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Travilearn, supported by Avis, to develop and enhance our BTA Cares programme.

“We can’t wait to give the travel community a well needed boost by encouraging those within the travel industry to find support from like-minded people, and helping them get back on their feet.”

Karen-Maria McKenna, Founder of Travilearn, added: “We are thrilled to collaborate with the BTA. Their sector renowned expertise and diligence makes them the perfect partner for our shared e-learning platforms.

“Their core values are ones that reflect our own, and we are looking forward to helping those impacted by redundancy back into employment.”
