Swan Hellenic has become the latest line to join cruise industry body Clia to boost its profile and relationships with agents across Europe.
The 70-year-old UK discovery cruise company is in the process of being revived with two new state-of-the-art, 152-berth expedition ships currently under construction in Finland.
The two five-star ships – the first named SH Minerva and provisionally Vega class – are due to launch in November 2021 and April 2022 respectively.
Joining the industry organisation under ‘European Regional Cruise Lines’, the partnership brings Swan Hellenic into Clia Europe’s wider community of cruise lines, agents and executive partners.
The addition of Swan Hellenice follows UK start-up sailing ship brand Tradewind Voyages and Russian river cruise brand Vodohod joining the ranks of Clia.
The organisation’s UK & Ireland director Andy Harmer said: “We’re excited to have Swan Hellenic join Clia, a well-known and loved British cruise line which has provided guests with unique holiday experiences for decades.
“We look forward to supporting the team as they develop and build relationships with trade across Europe.”
Swan Hellenic CEO Andrea Zito added: “We are delighted to join hands with so many distinguished names in cruising, and to express in this way our confidence in the industry’s ability to constantly innovate and create special travel experiences even in the most challenging times.”
Clia is hosting a special ‘New To CLIA’ live webinar from 9am on Wednesday (October 7) to introduce agents to new CLIA cruise line members. Register via https://cruising.org/en-gb/events
