Consort to join Advantage Travel Centres

Members of Northern Ireland agency consortium Consort will join Advantage Travel Centres next year.

A vote by all of its 29 independent agency members unanimously agreed to join Advantage on February 1.

Consort chairman Terry Murphy said that it wanted to retain its independence and the strong relationships Advantage has with its members was appealing.

He said: “In these challenging times we are keen to share the strong commercial agreements that membership of Advantage will give us, but in addition, marketing materials, consultancy services and other benefits will also prove extremely valuable to us.”

John McEwan, chief executive of Advantage Travel Centres, said: “Consort coming on board fits well with the existing members we already have in Northern Ireland and places us very clearly as the largest independent travel group in the province as well as further consolidating Advantage’s position as the largest independent travel consortium in the UK.”
