A festival-themed show is to be premiered on P&O Cruises new ship Iona when it finally enters service in 2021.
The production for the 5,200-passenger new-build will include feel-good anthems, choreography and the latest LED technology.
Festival has been created and produced by entertainer and singer Jonathan Wilkes and creative director Paul Domaine.
Wilkes said: “Festival is the perfect uplifting show about two groups of friends who meet at a Festival. It takes the audience on their journey, transporting everyone to those heady days of summer and will make you want to party the night away long after the show ends.”
The show will run alongside live music venue The 710 Club curated by Take That star Gary Barlow plus a series of aerial stunts and acrobatic acts in Iona’s SkyDome and atrium.
The SkyDome, with a giant roof and a pool with retractable stage, will also host a laser show and DJ set produced by ex-Blur bassist Alex James.
Four cinema screens will show a mix of classics and recent blockbusters throughout the day with the latest surround sound technology.
Family activities across the ship include archery, beat boxing, character appearances, silent discos and theatre shows with children’s television presenters.
Academy programmes will enable children to learn the skills to become a radio DJ, scientist or games designer.
