Industry stalwart Chris Oakes has joined outsourcing and services specialist Technomine Travel Solutions as partner and sales director
He has more than 30 years of experience in the travel industry, having held senior roles at Hays Travel, Holidaytaxis, Cosmos and Faremine.
The parent company Technomine Group has offices in North America, UAE, India and the UK, and was founded 10 years ago by Kunal and Viral Naik.
Oakes said Technomine Travel Solutions can help travel agents that need to outsource services such as back-office and out-of-hours functions, and web chat support.
He said: “We aim to help agents get back to selling holidays.”
Oakes added that he was delighted to be joining the team and heading the UK organisation at this pivotal time.
“Our main aim is to support our travel colleagues to rebuild their businesses and focus on their core strengths,” he commented.
“They may have had to, unfortunately, make staff redundant, cut back and downsize.
“We are positioning ourselves to work in partnership with the industry to support their transition into a new era of trading. We can help them to become more flexible and agile.”
Technomine Travel Solutions also plans to launch a dedicated website next week for the travel industry.
