Academic and “future thinker” Magnus Lindkvist has been confirmed as a speaker at next month’s Advantage Travel Centres conference in Malta.
Lindkvist, who created Europe’s first academic course in trendspotting and future thinking at the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship, aims to predict key changes in the future by studying and using the lessons of the past.
He will provide an outsider’s view on the challenges the travel industry faces in the future, and give his views on how to turn them to an advantage with case studies of companies that have embraced change and successfully adapted their business practices.
Lindkvist will then join panellists Hugh Morgan, Cosmos; Maria Whiteman, Directline Holidays; Paul Simmons, EasyJet; and Jo Rzymowska, Royal Caribbean International, to discuss the future of the industry.
Advantage leisure director Julia Lo Bue-Said said: “We may not be able to totally predict the future, but with the help of Magnus Lindkvist delegates will perhaps have a much clearer idea about it and how to capitalise on the opportunities.”
The conference takes place on April 26-29 with other speakers including four-time Olympic gold medallist Michael Johnson and Iron Maiden singer and commercial pilot Bruce Dickinson.
