Thomas Cook offers half-price Olympics deals

Half price Olympic breaks are being put on sale by Thomas Cook in a limited offer running until midnight on Monday (July 2).

The four-day sale across the 1,100-strong Cook agency network and online sees price cuts ranging between £100 and £1,000.

The biggest discount is for a two-night break covering the opening ceremony and beach volleyball combined with accommodation at the Holiday Inn in Mayfair, down from £4,999 to £3,999 per person.

The sale is launched to coincide with many people’s last pay day weekend before the games.

Stephen Vaughan, managing director of Thomas Cook’s London 2012 partnership, said: “It’s no secret that there are generally more tickets available to the Games than many people predicted there would be with a month to go.

“Even though British households’ finances remain under pressure, we’ve sold tens of thousands of Games Breaks so far, with many sessions and sports having sold out.

“This very special and limited offer on some of our remaining Games Breaks is in response to what we know our customers want – guaranteed seats and hotels that offer them great value.”
