CONTINENTAL Airlines has started its break-up with long-term codeshare partner Air France.
Plans to share flights with the French carrier to Russia and Saudi Arabia through Paris have been shelved.
The decision to scrap the plans comes after Air France pledged to form a global alliance with Continental rival Delta Air Lines.
Continental will instead concentrate on building up its own worldwide Wings alliance with KLM, Alitalia and Northwest Airlines.
However, this partnership is currently under strain due to KLM and Continental disputing how much revenue each should receive for shared transatlantic flights.
