BookaBed to launch to UK trade

Accommodation-only supplier BookaBed is to launch to the UK trade having worked with agents in Ireland for nearly a decade.

The company has appointed former Funway Holidays head of sales Darren Hall to forge partnerships with UK agents and consortia.

Karl Tyrrell, managing director, said: “Having been operational for nearly a decade delivering and servicing the Irish travel trade with quality products and services, our ambition has always been to expand our operational reach to the UK market.

“For the past 12 months we have been redeveloping our online trade-only booking engine in readiness to launch to the UK trade. Furthermore we are in the final stages of XML integration with all leading partners to maximise distribution reach.”

Accommodation will be available across Europe, America, the Caribbean, the Far East, the Middle East and Australia at all price-points from budget to luxury.

Hall, who was at Funway for 12 years, added:  “This is an exciting time for me personally and I am looking forward to taking the brand to market. A great deal of time has been spent developing the website and what we are able to provide travel agents is a very robust booking engine with multi-room booking facilities, last room inventory and flexible markup earnings.”

Agents can access Bookabed’s hotel and transfer products by logging onto the website and completing registration, or by contacting darren@bookabed.co.uk.
