MIDSCONSORT’S first conference may be scrapped because of the poor response from members.
Only 23 of the consortium’s 80 members have signed up for the event in Palma, Majorca even though 70 gave their initial backing. The deadline for registrations is September 10.
Chief executive Sue Foxall said the conference has the backing of operators but needs more support from agents.
“Many suppliers have said they will attend but may change their minds if they see that our agents can’t even support their own conference,” he said.
Foxall admitted the event is under threat and is writing to members to rally support. “I have 66 agents going at the moment and need 100 to make it worthwhile.”
