Alison Holmes appointed interim head of Freedom and CoPTA

An interim head has been appointed by Thomas Cook to head Freedom Travel Group and the Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors.

Former head of Freedom, Alison Holmes is taking up the role as part of a series of staff changes across the group.

She is to announce a combined management team structure within the next few weeks once a wider UK consultation process is completed.

Tracie Burton takes on the role of head of the retail transformation process, also on an interim basis.

Thomas Cook Co-operative Travel commercial director Paul Hemingway said: “This project is at a critical stage as we move from planning to execution and is essential to the growth in the long term profitability of our shop network.”

A Thomas Cook spokeswoman stressed the roles were only on an interim basis.
