Virgin Holidays to start selling travel insurance

Virgin Holidays is to start selling travel insurance via its call centre and nationwide retail network.

The operator and sister company Travel City Direct’s travel insurance products will also be available online via dedicated white-labelled websites.

Allianz Global Assistance UK is launching Virgin Holidays and Travel City Direct travel insurance under an Appointed Representative status.

Nine policies will be available including single trip and annual multi-trip, winter sports and cruise cover.

Customers will have the option to extend their cover to include additional extras such as adventure activities and wedding cover.

Virgin Holidays’ customer and sales director Mark Anderson said: “The ability to offer travel insurance alongside the holidays we sell has been something that our customers have sought from us for some time.

“We’re really pleased to achieve Appointed Representative status, and this is a fantastic addition to the range of benefits we already offer our customers – reflecting our own commitment to creating bespoke, differentiated and innovative products.”

Lee Taylor, chief sales officer of Allianz Global Assistance, said: “This latest development builds on our already successful working relationship with Virgin Holidays; we are really excited to assign them as an Appointed Representative of Allianz Global Assistance UK.”
