BRITISH Airways has until the end of next month to lodge its appeal against the European Commission ruling that previous agency agreements were illegal (Travel Weekly July 19).
BA had to wait for the formal verdict to be delivered last Wednesday before starting to prepare its appeal.
The airline still has to pay the £4.4m fine.
A spokeswoman said BA expected the appeal process to take many months.
She added BA was currently talking to agents before drawing up new deals.
“We will have new contracts by September 1,” she said.
The old contracts had to be ripped up following the EC decision last month.
