
Former Abta chairman John McEwan has joined the board of EFR Travel Limited.
EFR, a member of Advantage, provides corporate travel, including a private jet division and a concierge service. It also has a luxury tour operating programme and provides golfing holidays.
Founder and managing director of EFR, Edward Rom, said: “I am delighted that someone of John’s standing has agreed to join the board of EFR. He has a wealth of experience across the whole of the travel industry and his insight will be invaluable as we grow the business.”
John McEwan said: “I am really pleased to be joining the board of EFR. They are an ambitious company and I look forward to working with the board to grow the business both organically and through suitable acquisitions.”
McEwan was chief executive of Advantage for eight years before stepping down in April last year.
He has also held senior roles in Thomas Cook and Tui. He is currently chairman of Holidaysplease and deputy chairman of People 1st.
