French rail travel website Voyages-sncf has launched a portal dedicated to Irish travel agents and tour operators.
Voyages-sncf.eu offers the trade comprehensive information on European rail travel, and agents and operators can also make bookings on behalf of their clients.
The new site is backed by a support of a team of sales managers and executives based at the firm’s UK head office in Kent, as well as a helpdesk for online bookings.
Voyages-sncf has also created an online learning platform – beaeuropeanrailexpert.com – that is due to be launched by the end of the month.
Paul Lacey, head of trade sales at Voyages-sncf UK, said: “In 2012, Irish residents took 6.6 million outbound trips, with 86% of those being to other European countries.
“Launching in Ireland is a great opportunity for us to reach a new audience and to introduce them to European rail travel and its many benefits.”
Voyages-sncf.eu offers its users access to an integrated rail network, linking tens of thousands of European cities, towns and villages.
High-speed trains travel at speeds of up to 320km per hour offering a city-to-city alternative to air travel minus the security checks and baggage check-in.
