Fleetway Travel launches luxury holidays division

Fleetway Travel has launched a luxury holidays division headed by former Amathus Holidays manager Penny Kyprianou.

Luxury Holiday Collection features tailor-made trips to Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Israel, Morocco and Jordan.

The new offering, which is being sold through the trade, is expected to fill the gap left by the closure of Preston Travel Group. It is the first time London-based Fleetway has sold through agents.

Preston, whose brands included Amathus Holidays, Preston Holidays, Peltours and Longwood Holidays, ceased trading last month with 4,500 forward bookings.

Preston operated the Amathus Holidays brand under a trademark licence agreement. The owner, Amathus UK, is in talks with another tour operator for the brand to be revived.

Fleetway plans to release a brochure for Luxury Holiday Collection later this year and organise fam trips.

Fleetway sales director Ben Braude said: “We have already taken bookings from agents and it’s clear the demand for luxury holidays in these destinations is there following the closure of Preston Travel Group. Penny is a great addition to the team.”

The move marks a return to Fleetway for Kyprianou, who worked at the London-based operator 12 years ago.
