Speakers line up to address ACTE management gathering in Brussels

Carlson Wagonlit Travel manager account group Alphi Cartuyvels and Swissair/Sabena vice-president global sales Emmanuel Menu are among speakers attending the Association of Corporate Travel Executives Travel management forum in Brussels this week.

They will discuss whether growth in use of the Internet will mean corporate clients no longer need business travel agencies. The subject is one of four topics which will be addressed during the one-day forum, at the Hotel Le Plaza on Thursday.

In the first morning session, called Creating Value for your Management, delegates can get tips on successful negotiations and contracts. Guest speaker at the session will be Albert Taras, business travel consultant at Taras Consulting Group.

The second session, called Pricing Alternatives, will include a panel of travel managers and travel agents who will debate the changing structure of remuneration between client and suppliers. The subject of charging management fees and transaction fees will also be addressed.

In the first session of the afternoon, representatives from Hapag Lloyd business travel will give advice on how corporate clients can cut costs, while the final session will discuss growth of the Internet.

Registration for the one-day forum costs £108 for ACTE members and £150 for non-members. For more information, contact the ACTEoffice in Brussels on 0032 2 743 1589, or e-mail acte@associationhq.com. Future ACTETravel Management Forums have been scheduled for Zurich on March 28 and London on May 4. The ACTEGlobal Conference will take place on October 22-24 in Amsterdam.
