Rhian Herbert has been named as the first head of business development for the Global Travel Group.
Her background includes 18 years at the Co-operative Travel Group and Thomas Cook, where she held a number of positions in sales, business development, training and operations.
Herbert will oversee Global’s membership department, supporting member agents while developing wider strategic new business opportunities for the group as a whole.
Reporting directly to managing director Andy Stark, she will be tasked with a strategic review of the group’s existing membership offering and new business prospects as well as identifying opportunities for both organic and external growth.
Stark said: “Rhian takes on a new role at an exciting time. The Global Travel Group is growing rapidly and our diverse breadth of member agents will no doubt benefit from her impressive track record.
“Bolstering our management team is part of our ongoing strategy to ensure that we retain our status as one of the leading travel consortiums in the UK.
“Herbert will work with every facet of the business in this newly created role to ensure the company’s existing service offering and new business prospects remain one step ahead of the competition.”
