Italy faces air traffic controller strike

Airlines face disruption tomorrow (Saturday) due to a strike by air traffic controllers in Italy.

The walkout will take place between 12.30pm and 4.30pm local time.

Aircraft flying over Italy and inbound long-haul services will be the only ones unaffected, according to Eurocontrol.

Monarch Airlines said: “We are continuing to monitor the situation and will endeavour to keep any disruption to our service to a minimum.

“Although this situation is beyond our control we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
