Portman Travel has appointed Steve Allen (pictured right) as chief executive, with Michael Hare (pictued left) becoming company president.
Allen, previously managing director of Wexas Travel, will focus on the travel management company’s UK business, with Hare focusing on international strategy.
Hare will also remain chairman of Radius Travel, the global business travel network of which Portman is a shareholder, and will continue as a director of Portman’s technology joint venture ATRIIS Technologies.
Hare said: “I am delighted to welcome Steve to Portman. He has extensive corporate and leisure travel experience, and I look forward to working with him as we build on our successful global strategy and increase our prominence in the UK market.”
Allen added: “Portman is a great business, and I look forward to working with their proven team to build on the success of the company. Radius Travel is expanding fast as the business becomes increasingly global, and it is a real positive for Portman that Mike will be able to focus on driving this growth further, with the UK’s support and involvement.”
Allen was managing director of Wexas for more than 10 years following a career with Cendant and Tui. He is currently a member of the GTMC’s executive board.
