TAP Air Portugal is expanding its network in Brazil through a codeshare deal with local low-cost carrier Gol.
The move will provide connections to more destinations in the South American country than the 12 currently served by the airline from Europe.
These include Teresina, Austin, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Iguaçu, João Pessoa, São Luiz, Goiânia, Maceió, Porto Seguro, Victoria and Campina Grande.
The co-operation is expected to be extended to 29 destinations within Brazil.
TAP offers up to 81 weekly flights from Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, via Lisbon or Porto, to Fortaleza, Natal, Recife, Salvador, Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Campinas, Porto Alegre, Manaus and Belém.
Gol’s network covers 54 destinations in Brazil as well as 15 points throughout South America, the Caribbean and the US.
Both carriers are working towards interlinking their respective loyalty schemes to create multiple options to earn and use air miles over TAP and Gol’s respective networks.
