Lesley Kane, former head of sales and marketing, Europe at Ryanair, has been recruited by Canadian leisure airline Air Transat.
She takes on the role of UK and Ireland sales director, reporting to UK and Ireland general manager Kathryn Munro, also managing director of sister company Canadian Affair.
Kane spent 18 years at Ryanair and was most recently head of corporate travel and groups, having previously been head of sales and marketing, Europe.
Her appointment comes as part of a strengthening of Air Transat’s team as the airline increases transatlantic services including a new summer link between Gatwick and St John’s, Newfoundland.
Munro said: “Lesley’s extensive experience of airline sales, marketing and customer management makes her an excellent fit for our team.
“The months and year ahead are important ones as Air Transat grows its position in the UK and Ireland through a mix of new services, increased frequencies and larger aircraft, and Lesley will play a key role in that evolution.”
