Worldchoice TV given go-ahead for second year

Worldchoice TV is to run for a second year from tomorrow (April 29), according to the Travel Network Group.

The consortium has signed a further one-year deal with production company Ideal World to air Worldchoice TV throughout 2015-16.

The deal means that there will continue to be a monthly live show, aired at prime time on Wednesdays at 8pm.

Group marketing director Si Prentice and head of retail Karen Oates will continue as key presenters of the show which is produced and aired from Ideal World’s studios in Peterborough. The marketing team plans to host a day for members to visit the studios later in the year.

The original show was first screened in 2013 to add value to the Worldchoice brand, generate new customers and create a new distribution channel to support business partners.

Prentice said: “Since launching Worldchoice TV we have tried and tested a number of different formats, but the ‘all inclusive’ show is the one that has seen the best results.

“Viewers obviously like the fact that the price they see on the programme is the price they pay.”

Pre-show marketing efforts such as direct mailings, social media feeds and banners in agencies have also helped to build interest in the programme.

“Members have also used the footage of the TV programme on their websites and in-store and tell us that they are benefitting from incremental sales after the show has aired,” Prentice added.

Group managing director Gary Lewis said: “We have been really pleased with the way that Worldchoice TV has developed over the past 12 months, and are delighted that the viewing and booking figures continue to grow each month as the programme has become more established.

“More and more members are getting bookings on the back of the programme and feel that the programme helps them to further build their brand in their local market places.”

The 2015/2016 schedule is:

29 April
27 May
24 June
22 July
26 August
30 September
28 October
20 January, 2016
