Former Tui Ireland boss to be new Cruising Excursions managing director

Cruising Excursions has appointed former Tui Travel Ireland boss Damien Mooney as its new managing director.


Mooney will report in to chairman John Wimbleton and will work alongside chief operating officer Simonne Fairbanks.


He was previously boss of Irish tour operator Falcon/JWT Holidays, which was part of the Tui AG group.


Speaking about his appointment, Mooney said: “I am very excited to be appointed managing director.


“Cruisingexcursions.com is an excellent business that is uniquely positioned to deliver quality port/shore excursion product with a real value proposition to the ever-growing cruise travel sector. 


“I am looking forward to driving the business towards further growth and building on the successes achieved to date.  The business is looking to the next stage of development, which includes further growth within the UK & Ireland along with expansion in Europe, the USA and Australia.


“I look forward to working again with John Wimbleton along with Simonne Fairbanks and an inspiring board of directors.”


Wimbleton said: “Cruisingexcursions.com has experienced very rapid growth, going from a small start up to a multi-million pound turnover in less than four years


“Having worked with Damien previously I know that he is a like-minded business leader with strong experience in delivering financial performance and strategic direction and is the right person to take the company to the next level.”
