JTA Travel Group has appointed Chris Cundall to the newly created role of head of sales for the UK.
Cundall will be responsible for the national sales team, manage key partner accounts at head office level and “enhance agent relationships” throughout the north of England and the M62 corridor.
JTA Travel Group, which operates JTA and Belleair Holidays, called the hire “a strategic move” to continue expanding its footprint in the travel industry.
Cundall joins from Great Little Breaks and previously worked for Super Break for 24 years.
He said: “After five years working with Great Little Breaks, I felt this was the perfect time for me to take on my next challenge.
“The opportunity to join a well-established, forward-thinking, innovative and profitable business, while working alongside very experienced and entrepreneurial leaders and an expanding team, was too good to miss.”
Wayne Darrock, JTA Travel Group chief executive, said: “We believe Chris will bring the expertise and character necessary to ensure our sales team is the best it can be.
“His skill set will support our team and agent trade partners in achieving their goals of promoting and selling high-quality, highly profitable holidays.”
Dave Green, business development director, added: “Chris is a good guy who is very well-liked and respected by agents and his industry peers alike, and with his leadership skills, I am positive our JTA and Belleair sales team will move on to reach new heights in terms of agent engagement, service and of course in overall sales performance.”
