Travelsphere and Just You have recorded a 28% year-on-year boost in trade sales for the three months from August to October.
The achievement has come as the G Touring brands continue efforts to ramp up their trade engagement.
G Touring managing director Adam Kemp said: “Across both Travelsphere and Just You, we’re seeing incredible year-on-year growth and we’re well ahead of our targets.”
Last month, trade sales were up 23% year on year, he said, with the week from Monday, October 28 – Sunday, November 3 being the best of the calendar year.
The average passenger value last month was 17% higher for trade sales compared with direct – a contrast which has been attributed to a greater number of long-haul bookings through agents.
“We’ve seen a lot of demand for more expensive, long-haul holidays,” said Kemp. “Our Australia and New Zealand extension has been doing really well for us recently.”
The US has also been performing well, he added.
The heightened focus on the trade has included a fresh approach to brochure distribution. More brochures are being printed and they are now being given to agents who might start booking with the brands in addition to those who have logged sales previously.
Trade sales director Tom Morgan said: “In the last brochure print run, we printed more than twice the amount of brochures that we had ever printed on a brochure run for the trade before, which is a significant investment on our side – brochures aren’t cheap.”
He added: “We want to be at the forefront of agents’ minds and I think we’ve really done a good job of that over the last 12 months. We’re listening to the trade and adapting because we want to be the easiest brands for the trade to work with.”
