New Typically Holidays brochure pays tribute to company founder

Typically Holidays’ new 2025 Italy brochure includes a heartfelt tribute to the company’s late founder Carlo Broccoli.

Managing director Daniele Broccoli said it “just felt right” to dedicate the new brochure to his late father and ‘teacher’.

Carlo died in January 2024 aged 95, and set up travel agency Britaly Travel in 1984 with his son, who now runs the business. The company later set up the trade-only Typically Holidays tour operation.

Daniele said the tribute “came straight from the heart” in the company’s 41st year of selling tailormade holidays.

The tribute introduces the brochure, which features the Dolomites for the first time and more suggested itineraries to help agents convert a sale.

It says: “I started in 1984 with my father, Carlo, and we worked side by side for 30 years before he retired. He always taught me to do my best as a person and as a company and to really look after my clients.”

He credits his dad with promoting the “personal human touch” which he said the company still offers today.

He recalled: “Even at 95 I always spoke to my dad daily about the brochures we did and when I was writing the intro it just felt right to write about him. I normally correct it two or three times but I just wrote this the first time.”

Daniele, who said the 2025 brochure would have made his dad proud, added: “The brochure is dedicated to my dad; I even wrote a few lines in Italian. It didn’t feel right to talk about new destinations; I talked about all the skills my dad taught me and after I wrote it I didn’t want to change it, it came from the heart.

“He taught me how to look after customers. He said if you would not go on holiday with your own family to a hotel, don’t sell it, and that is how we’ve approached it over the years. The sales team know that.”

Broccoli said the new brochure, which comes out this week, was “bigger and better than ever before” covering Italy from “top to toe”.

“I have put more in the brochure for agents with more trade-friendly itineraries. So if clients want ideas, agents can find them in the brochure to help them to sell the holiday,” noted Daniele, who launched the brochure on the company’s Facebook page to the trade (see below).
