Spear Travels relocates Helmsley branch to larger site

Spear Travels has moved its Helmsley branch to a larger site in the same area.

Managing director Peter Cookson cut the ribbon at the new location close to its previous premises last Friday.

More than 50 people including many regular customers attended the opening.

The shop is located at 3 Borogate in the North Yorkshire town and will have four agents on site with the same opening hours as the previous shop.

Branch manager Sam Humpleby said: “We have been searching for new premises for a long time due to the size of our branch and, it’s very rare that anything becomes available in our town.

“We are therefore absolutely thrilled to have secured and moved into a much larger unit in the town. It has significantly improved staff morale and our clients love the extra space we now have.”

She added: “We will also be able to host instore events which we’ve never been able to do previously. We look forward to welcoming all of our loyal and new customers and indeed our supplier partners to our new premises.”

Julie Kendrick, head of commercial and marketing, said: “The previous shop was so tiny we could barely fit three desks in.

“This new unit is huge and gives the team the opportunity to all be in on the same day if necessary.”

The Spear Travels Group includes Regent Travel, Broads Travel and Spear Travels with a total of 11 shops around the UK.
