Advertorial: Air Iceland becomes Travelport customer for first time

Travelport has announced that Air Iceland, an Icelandair Group company, has become a customer for the first time and signed up to Travelport Rich Content and Branding.

The airline’s content is now available from Travelport’s Travel Commerce Platform.

This latest development means that Travelport connected travel agencies globally now have access to Air Iceland’s fares via Travelport’s award-winning point of sale solution Travelport Smartpoint.

This is a multi-year agreement with Air Iceland, a carrier that offers domestic flights covering the North Atlantic countries: Iceland, Greenland and the Faroe Islands, which are bookable via Travelport Smartpoint.

Ingi Þór Guðmundsson Director of Sales and Marketing at Air Iceland commented: “Travelport’s technology is in high demand within the travel industry and we are looking forward to becoming part of that story.

“We are pleased to be taking advantage of Travelport’s Travel Commerce Platform and we also believe that its merchandising capabilities will help travel agents to promote our offering, as travelers are showing increased interest to the North Atlantic, and better serve their customers.”

Simon Ferguson, Travelport’s Managing Director for the UK, Ireland and the Nordics, said: “We welcome Air Iceland as the latest Travelport customer and we look forward to helping the carrier increase its revenue and drive growth.

“At Travelport, we are redefining travel commerce by offering game-changing new products to the travel industry and we are pleased to now offer these to Air Iceland.”
