Thomson Airways extends Sharm flight cancellations

Thomson Airways has extended the cancellation of UK flights to Sharm el-Sheikh by a week until December 9.

Outbound flights had previously been grounded until December 3.

Yesterday’s change came as easyJet and British Airways cancelled all flights to the Egyptian Red Sea resort until January.

Thomas Cook flights to Sharm el-Sheikh remain suspended until December 10 and Monarch flights until December 19.

Thomson cited Foreign and Commonwealth advice for the cancellation of further outbound flights from the UK to Sharm el-Sheikh, up to and including December 9.

People booked to travel to Sharm el-Sheikh in this period will be offered a full refund or the chance to change to any holiday currently on sale.

A £30 per person discount is being offered for any new holiday taken before the end of April 2016.

Those booked to travelling to Sharm el-Sheikh up to December 31 will be able to amend their booking to any holiday departing by the end of April 2016 free of charge

A discount of £50 per person is available if they amend to one of 13 winter holidays to destinations such as the Canary Islands, mainland Spain, Madeira or Cape Verde.
