Hays Travel profits put firm in Fast Track 100

Hays Travel has been rated 35th in a league table of 100 private UK firms with the fastest-growing profits.

The annual list, compiled by Fast Track for the Sunday Times, also sees Bradford-based business travel agency Redfern Travel listed at number 27.

Hotel operator Principal Hotels comes in at number 15 having recorded three-year annual profit growth of 105%.

Hays Travel was listed as having made £6.3 million in its latest accounts for the year ending October 2015 and a three-year profit growth of 85%.

The listing noted the recent buyout of Bath Travel, taking the number of branches operated to 120 and 977 people employed, but that margins were “slim”.

Redfern Travel has seen success in shifting the booking of corporate travel to its online platform and claims to manage one transaction every 3.6 seconds.

It has seen three-year profit growth of 89%, its latest accounts to March 2015 showing it made profits of just under £5 million for the year.
