Following the letter from Brendan Maguire (Travel Weekly April 5) I would like to make the following point.
Contrary to Brendan Maguire’s belief, commission on insurance does not form a significant part of our income, risk management does. By making our members profitable and ensuring they follow our system, we minimise claims. Where will Travelcall Group be if a member fails owing money to clients and operators? It is easy to negotiate commission deals when groups like TTA and ABTA do the cleaning up and provide guarantees.
