Canadian Airlines agrees deal to expand codeshare with BA

CANADIANAirlines has expanded its codeshare agreement with Oneworld partner British Airways to cover more European destinations.

The carrier has started to put its code on BA flights from Heathrow to Brussels and Stockholm.

Services will be shared four times a day to the Belgian and Swedish capitals.

The signing of an agreement to serve Sweden allows Canadian to sell a destination it was previously absent from.

The two carriers already share transatlantic flights to major Canadian destinations and European cities, including Paris.

Canadian’s managing director Europe, Middle East and Africa Gary Cross said timings for the BA flights at Heathrow would fit in with arriving traffic from Canada.

Cross added this co-operation was just the start of a plan to expand Canadian’s network.

“We will continue to look at opportunities to expand the network by leveraging our Oneworld relationships,” he said.
