UK SAVINGS FOR A UNIVERSAL ESCAPE
Universal Studios’ three-day Escape Pass to its new and existing Florida theme parks has been set at around £77. If prebooked in the UK, the price drops to £65 for adults and children over 10. For children aged three to nine, the UK rate is £53, a saving of about £12. Both are commissionable to agents.
PRIVILEGES FOR DISNEY GRADUATES
Walt Disney Attractions says 40% of all UK agents have signed up for its new College of Disney training programme, Passport to 2000. The correspondence course involves three modules which have to be completed within six weeks for agents to qualify as Disney Graduates. They then receive a range of privileges.
PALM SPRINGS PROMOTES FAMILY APPEAL
Palm Springs Tourism is promoting the Californian desert resort area, already popular with golfers, tothe UK family market as a recreational and soft-adventure destination. It is working with American Airlines, which has extended its Chicago-Palm Springs route to operate year-round.
MAGIC ADDS HOTELS TO CITIES PROGRAMME
New York, Boston and Washington are included in the Magic Travel Group’s Magic Cities programme operating to March 2000. A total of 12 hotels are featured, with one-night New York breaks from £455 including flights.
