UK to Miami fares starting at £119 one way are being offered on a new service by Icelandic budget carrier Wow Air.
Flights from Gatwick via Reykjavik are to start on April 5, 2017, and will run three times a week.
Tickets go on sale via the airline’s website from midday today (Thursday).
Miami becomes the eighth city in the US and Canada to be served by the low cost carrier, joining Montreal, Washington D.C, Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and New York.
Transatlantic flights from Reykjavik to Miami will be flown by long-range Airbus A330-300 wide-body aircraft carrying 350 passengers in a single-class configuration, with a seat pitch varying from 30 to 34 inches.
Wow Air chief executive, Skúli Mogensen, said: “Having lived in Miami myself, I understand the appeal for many UK and European travellers, so I am thrilled to add this global and energetic city to our ever growing list of North American destinations.
“With our New York service commencing in November and now Miami only a few months later, we are thrilled to continue our mission to offer the lowest fares across the Atlantic.“
