Independent Leicester-based travel agency Millington Travel is to join Worldchoice from rival consortium Elite Travel Group.
The firm, which currently operates nine stores and will open a tenth before Christmas, will officially join The Travel Network Group owned consortium on October 1.
Millington Travel, which was established in 1972, is owned by managing director Nigel Armitage and fellow director Nick Bland and has its head office in Leicester.
It has been a member of Elite, which is now affiliated with the Advantage Travel Partnership, for 30 years and employs 60 staff in both corporate and leisure roles.
Armitage said: “Millington is embarking on a new phase in its development and we believe The Travel Network Group will be the perfect partner to support our growth.
“It was apparent very early on that we are like-minded organisations and we will be a great fit both strategically and culturally.
“With a focused growth strategy we felt we needed a partner who would give us access to great technology and marketing, and one who could bring fresh ideas and opportunities.”
Gary Lewis, chief executive of The Travel Network Group, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Nigel and Nick and their team at Millington Travel to our Group.
“They have built a very strong and robust business in and around Leicestershire and believe there is the opportunity to take their expertise to other locations around the East Midlands.”
Lewis said the addition of Millington boosts the group’s network in the Leicestershire & East Midlands area and claimed its addition will take total membership to 920.
“We have real momentum in recruiting new members because our current members are talking so positively about us and how we are delivering for each of them.
“In the last 18 months we have attracted four major players to our group and our recruitment pipeline has never been so strong.
