Brexit fuels Pitchup.com overseas expansion

Online outdoor accommodation specialist Pitchup.com has expanded its offering into five new countries – with the growth fuelled by Brexit.

The addition of Australia, Greece, Canada, Botswana and Lithuania brings the total number of countries in the company’s portfolio up to 32.

New accommodation options include a safari lodge in Botswana with prices starting at £11 per person, per night; pitches in Australia at the same price and beach camping in Greece leading in at £7pppn.

Founder Dan Yates said: “Despite fears about the future of the UK outside of the EU, and the plummeting pound, Brexit is actually fueling Pitchup.com’s expansion as we are finding people don’t want to give up their overseas holidays but are instead looking for more economical options.

“As a result, we have moved into new markets swiftly and will be adding more options in these recently-added countries soon.”

The site is now available in 14 different languages, with Greek and Polish the latest to be introduced.
