Advantage to put deals first

ADVANTAGE Travel Centres will not co-operate with the new independent group of operators if it risks damaging existing commercial deals.

Commercial director Neil Armorgie said the consortium needs to have more information before deciding if it can work with the Truly Independent Professional Tour Operators.

Armorgie, speaking after a meeting with TIPTO founder and Cadogan Holidays managing director Gary David, said: “There are lots of ideas but no tangible agenda. In principal I applaud the plan but we need to see more meat on the bones such as obligations on racking.

“Only 20 operators will be selected to join TIPTO and if they clash with suppliers we already work with it will be hard to go forward. I will not put at risk the relationships and deals we have worked hard to develop with other operators.”

David said at least 85 operators are attending a meeting in London on May 25.
