n Avis offers special easter holiday rates
Avis Rent A Car is offering a lead-in price of ú99 for a five-day rental of a group B car over the Easter bank holiday. The company is also putting together a deal of ú139 for a seven-day rental for check-outs between March 31 and April 3. Weekly rentals will be reduced to ú145 for a group Bcar and ú165 for a group Ccar during the school holidays, from now until April 12.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has reported a 6.5% increase in passenger numbers to 16,350 for February 1999. Vehicle carryings also rose over the same period, from 4,887 to 5,111 – a 4.6% increase.
