BRITISH Airways has revamped the way it takes group bookings from agents to offer more flexibility.
Deposit payment times have been extended and changes to bookings and names can be made closer to departure.
Payments can now be made between two weeks and three months after reservations are taken, depending on departure date. Previously, deposits had to be paid within six weeks of booking.
Name changes can be given 10 days before departure, instead of six weeks, and group size altered up to four months prior to departure free.
Sales manager specialist markets Graham Howarth said: “It is becoming standard practice in certain segments of the groups market for travel agents to tender for the business.
“The new longer deposit lead time of three months allows them to hold the space until a group has made a firm decision.”
