GO is launching four new services to Spain and Portugal from Stansted.
Thrice-weekly Faro flights start on March 28 followed by four weekly services to Malaga on March 29, six times weekly to Bilbao on May 20 and double daily to Madrid on July 1.
The British Airways low-cost carrier is also doubling its Stansted-Lisbon frequency to double daily on March 24. Fares start at ú80 return to Bilbao; ú90 to Madrid; and ú120 to Malaga and Faro.
Chief executive Barbara Cassani said: “A third of our destinations are in the Iberian peninsula and the potential is enormous.”
Spain will follow Italy as the next battleground with the launch of Ryanair flights later this year. EasyJet already serves Madrid, Barcelona and Madrid.
