n Bass opens holiday inn in free trade zone
Bass Hotels and Resorts has opened a property in Batam, Indonesia’s first and only free trade zone. The Holiday Inn Batam is located close to Batam’s International Ferry Terminal within Waterfront City, a self-contained theme park.
n greek double for luxury collection
The Villa Vedeam hotel in Santorini, Greece, has joined Starwood Hotels and Resorts’ Luxury Collection. Also a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the hotel will be the second Greek island resort to join the Luxury brand in the past year. The Hotel Santa Marina, Mykonos, joined last July.
n hilton management wins bolshoi contract
Hilton International has won the management contract for a $58m hotel due to
open in Moscow in spring next year. The 218-room property will be called the Hilton Bolshoi Moscow and will be located on the historic site of the Ararat restaurant next to the Bolshoi ballet and a short walk from Red Square.
n Amex signs upinternational chain
American Express has signed up the 33-strong Warwick International Hotel chain as a partner in its membership rewards programme. Warwick claimed it would attract both business and leisure clients from the scheme’s members as its hotels are spread across city centres worldwide and also in resorts.
