Strong early sales lead Cosmos to lift capacity

Cosmos has increased capacity by around 5% in its main edition Winter Sun brochure following strong sales for its Earlybird brochure.

Sales and marketing director Paul Riches reported sales up 10% on last year after the operator went on sale with its best-selling products from its Winter Sun and over-50s programme Golden Times last November.

Riches said most of the extra capacity had been added in the Canary Islands which was selling very well.

The programme features resorts in 18 destinations with Egypt and Gozo new for next winter. Free places for children and teenagers up to 16 years are available on selected dates at many hotels and apartments in Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Benidorm, Costa del Sol, the Algarve, Malta and Tunisia.

Selected hotels in Tenerife, Lanzarote, Costa del Sol, Benidorm, Cyprus, Madeira and Malta are offering millennium specials offering parties, firework displays and free gifts. Prices lead in at £498 for seven nights at the Paradise Island in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote.

Lapland has been introduced as a new destination for one-parent families. The single occupancy supplement is waived for the Hotel Levitunturi in Lapland on December 12 and 15.

Pre-bookable car hire is available in most resorts with prices leading in at £38 for three days in the Algarve.

Pre-bookable flight seats are available on selected departures along with the premium service Monarch Plus.

Meanwhile, Cosmos is offering up to £100 off per couple in its main edition Golden Times brochure.

Prices start from £198 for seven nights’ half-board at the Hotel St George’s Park in Malta. All-inclusive holidays are available in Cyprus, Tunisia, Benidorm and the Costa del Sol from £279 for a week. Nine destinations are featured in the programme.

Both brochures go on sale tomorrow.
