Reservations fast-track is a gift for agents

HOLIDAY Autos is aiming to double the number of bookings made by agents using viewdata after upgrading its reservation system.

The new system, which was launched this week, uses half the number of pages of the previous system to make a booking, making it easier and faster to use.

Managing director UK and Ireland Tony Seaman said:”It will give agents quick and efficient access to make a Holiday Autos booking, so it will encourage more of them to use viewdata.”

Currently, 12% of all bookings are made by agents using viewdata, but Seaman said he expects the figure to rise to 25% in the next few months.

To help encourage agents to use viewdata, Holiday Autos will launch a new incentive programme at the end of this month which will have an extra reward for viewdata bookings.

Its current incentive programme pays ú4 for each booking, regardless of whether it is made by telephone or by viewdata. Agents who take bookings for The Max, Holiday Autos’ upgraded product which includes a tank of petrol and an additionaldriver, receive ú5 for each booking. These payments are on top of agreed commission.

Agents who subscribe to the Internet can use it to access the upgraded Holiday Autos reservation system, using an extranet which was also launched this week.

The extranet has been successfully trialled with a number of agents in the UK. The advantage of using the extranet is that it allows users to access much more information than can be put on to viewdata.
